window tint removal?

This is a discussion on window tint removal? within the Showcar and Detailing forums, part of the General Help category; alright i got all the tint off the back glass but the glue is still there and is a bitch ...

    window tint removal?

    alright i got all the tint off the back glass but the glue is still there and is a bitch to get off, any ideas? I have tried adhesive remover from 3m and invisible glass cleaner but i still have to scrub like hell. somebody told me the film had probably seperated but it is a bitch to remove ive been scrubbing on it off and on for a week. need something that will bring it off.

    Do not use a razorblade!!! I used a Shark portable steam cleaner like this one. http://www.target.com/gp/detail.html...sin=B00008J4C8
    Nothing else would get the glue off my windows. The steam cleaner made quick work of it.

    brakekleen works awsome taking stickystuff off of window glass.....just dont get it on the paint!!

    i was gonna say use an iron, but be careful not too heat the glass to much and burn yourself...but i've only used the iron for side windows, not the rear. not sure how it will work with the rear defrost stuff

    Thanks for all the advice but i went my route alot of bud light and stuff from advance. some of your ideas would have worked faster. thanks

    heatgun is good for actual tint removal but he is talking about the adheasive sometimes left after you use a heatgun.
