I had mine powdercoated and Simple Green cleans them right up. A lot of people have to wetsand them to get them cleaned up if they aren't coated in some way.

I think it was $40, money well spent IMO.

I didn't like how the rough casting looked,,,the part of the tips that are mostly under the car,,,,so I removed mine and stuck them in the cabinet blaster to bring the aluminum look back.

The lips on mine also required some sanding with 1500 and a re-polish. I have been contemplating shooting it with a clearcoat to make them easier to clean in the future,,,don't know yet.

So how well does the simple green work???? Does it clean down in the poors of the rough casting pretty well??????

Spray it on and wipe off on mine, look like brand new after I do.

I have stainless exhaust tips and I have tried simple green, even full strength, and it didn't do anything for me.

I've been using Nevr-Dull and it works wonders.

It does for me Larry. I can't say how well it would work if mine weren't powdercoated though.

Oh okay,,,,I understand now. I thought you were using it to clean bare nasty looking aluminum. But in fact you are using it to clean up when the powder coating gets dirty....
