ok my findings on this task................

The mothers mag polish by itself only helped a little...........BUT after wet sanding it worked super ! after the mothers mag and alum poish I put some zymol clearner wax on and man it looks sweet !

If I would have had a drill w/ pads or a high speed polisher it would have been much easier to do and I am sure even a greater look.

If u r like me and need to save $$$ when u can....... wetsand, mothers mag polish and zymol cleaner wax is the way to go.
if u got money like sarge then get some halo lights

almost forgot.......the big question is how long will this last b4 its a foggy lookin headlight again ??? we shall see

Just hit them up with some glaze once every month and they will last.
We average 300+ sunny days a year out here and that works for us.

Yes it does wonders. It will fill light scratches and remove swirls that wax won't. Meq. has a Professional Series you can get at AutoZone I think it's #7 in a tan bottle. We use it on everything from our show cars to the race cars.
The WaxShop makes a very good glaze also I think it's called SuperGlaze in a clear bottle.

Either one is not that expensive. Try them out I guarantee you won't be disappointed!
Don't be afraid of the bottle!!! Be afraid of your tune!!!

No but I build complete cars for many of my customers.
I also have a radical custom show car that has about $14,000 in body and paint.

Then one day if you get a scratch in your paint you could use the kit for that (it comes with some scratch repair paste too).

    all I saw was a 5 " pad , but no kit

At the Wal Mart near my house in the automotive department they have a small section that has wet sandpaper, bondo, primer, touch up paint etc. Its right in with all that stuff. Its actually made by 3M I believe. It has a drill attatchment with a velcro backing plate for holding the pad on,a orange cutting pad(foam pad) w/ velcro on the back of it, a black finishing pad w/velcro on the back, and some sort of scratch repair solution inside the box too. Its actually for scratch repair but it looks perfect for doing headlights because of the smaller size. I hope they have it at your wal mart because IMO its just what you need. I actually bought new headlights for my car but I am going to redo and sell my old ones on ebay. Now I am thinking maybe I should have just redone my old ones first-o well LOL!!!! Randy-if you cant find one of the kits I am talking about let me know and I will find it online for you in case you want to order it. I think I payed $14.95.

this might sound stupid..but it works...get a rag...toothpaste... and add toothpaste all over the headlights.....wait 2 mins...wipe off.....it wont look BRAND NEW..but it would give it some shine

Actually-I have heard that before. The abrasive ingredients in tooth paste act like rubbing compound.
