    Waxing your tires

I decided to wax my tires the other day and all I can say is WOW!!!! It looks way better than any tire shine I have tried- especially after using the buffer to finish em off. The tread on my tires looks like new. All was well till I did one of these

Wouldn't waxing the tread make the tires slippery? Sidewall OK but tread? By the smilie I'm assuming yes...

Also curious how well it gets into the fine lines of the side wall. Nothing beats a spray that I've found.

    What product was it?

I highly doubt anything made my Turtle Wax is water based.....
Meaning it would be oil based and could dry out the material if applications stopped.

I will stick to using Prima Nero for rubber, vinyl, and such. Works great on the dash and the tires.

You guys know I am jokin around right? I use Nero for the dash etc. - smells so good! Not overpowering though with a nice matte finish.

For tires Meguiars Hot Shine. Never slings. It's one of the only over the counter things I use.

Nick is fairly busy, and rarely at the shop. No idea about his email agenda though.
As for the Nero...I have the bottle in front of me. Not an ingredient list on it though.

I have been using it around 4-5 years with no issues. I know it's water based from what they say on their website.

Usually no list on the bottle. No big deal. I just like to examine different products to see whats out there.
I'm sure there is something better than turtle wax, but its cheap and the results are good enough until I find something that works better for a good price.

I like to pay alot for products because the more you pay the better they are.

I hate paying a lot for products....
But by using the cheap stuff and then using something in the mid-range you quickly learn how much better a product can be.

There is NO turtle wax product that will touch any vehicle of mine.
The products I buy usually last much longer than the cheapo off-the-shelf stuff too. In the end, it costs about the same per use and works MUCH better.
