seriously.... for 300 i'd get mine done. It needs it. I have micro scratches all over from poor washing technique and want to get it all detailed and pretty for the summer and start washing it right to minimize the recurrence of those pesky things. I tried Meguiars step 1 cleaner with limited success I also tried Swirl X on the same area with limited success.... even after 3 or 4 tries by hand i still saw a decent amount of micro scratches. So i tried my meguiars wax on that same section and while the paint had a nice shine to it and the metallic nature of my color really came out on that panel.... well... it still had micro scratches..... I don't have the equipment the time or the product to get this done right and Jaison if you lived around here you would have gotten the call from me long ago.

I think I'll take another stab at it this weekend seeing as I have a cruise on Sunday and want at least a clean and waxed car for that.

your problem is you keep waxing over those swirl marks to try and get ride of them or hide them....you need to remove them.....when the weather gets nicer well meet up and ill give you a hand but your entire car needs to be compounded/clay barred.

Be sure to claybar your car, you could be rubbing around impurities in the paint. That's a very important step before ANY buffing.

I would also say to change your applictor. Get these, they are hand applicators with correct densitys/cutting capacity to apply the compounds by hand. OR like you said, shell out the cash and have the car professionally buffed.

Make sure your's is one of the first ones done. I have a feeling as the night rolls on, the better the cars would look without having anything done - kinda like women look better after a few.
