Soap and Wax?
I just read the Zaino tips and tricks.
Since I have had my car I've used my Mr. Clean Powerclean to wash my car. And I've dried with Microfiber cloth, never waxed.
What is the best soap that I can use with the Powerclean, and what is a good affordable wax I can use? This will be the first time I wax my car, and any tips would be great.
Also, for shiny tires, I have always used Black Magic, however I heard someone talking about mixing their own shine, anyone familiar with this?

I use mothers cleaner wax along with meguires polish. On the tires i use the Armoral tire shine. If you buy the mothers Clay Bar kit you get 2 waxes and a clay bar and something else if im not mistaken. Ive been using a absorber and a blower to dry the car. I use the leaf blower till i have most of the water off the car then i get all the extra water in the hard to get places with the absorber. I use armorall protectant for the inside of the car and megires for the leather seats. They make something thats almost like hand lotion. I also use armorall car was in a bucket with a grit guard and a really nappy washing sponge. Something with alot nappy will pick up alot more dirt then something with no nap at all.
Its best to apply the wax with a applicator which you can buy at any store. Put it on wait till it glazes a bit and when you can wipe it off with a finger and leave nothing behind it means its time to wipe it off. I use the cleaner then the polish then the cleaner again usually by the time im done i cant sit the bottle anywhere on the car or it slides off. I wax every 3 weeks or so.Last edited by 95camaroZNC; 03-29-2009 at 05:44 PM.

NP its easy stuff just dont go with a hand held waxxer till you have waxed the car alot by hand. I still prefer to do it by hand most of the time.

Well since this is your first time, I would definetly recommend using a clay bar first. After you wash the car. You want to make sure you get all the grime off before you wax your car.
My recommendation for your next step would be meguiars 3 step deep crystal system. It works great on darker vehicles. It's a little more expensive than the mothers that 95camaroZNC recommended, but you will be extremely happy with the results.
(yes there are more expensive products out there that give awesome results too, and I'm sure others will recommend them, but this is great for the price)
See my results with it here:

If you do use this system, make sure you have plenty of time to do all three steps. Steps one and two don't protect the vehicle, you must do step 3.

Well I ended up getting some Meguiar's Gold wax. I put on a coat early today, and I just put on the second coat. It's looking pretty sick.

I went with Meguiar's Gold. I put two layers of wax on. It is shiny as hell.
