Shamwow towels?

This is a discussion on Shamwow towels? within the Showcar and Detailing forums, part of the General Help category; Anyone use these on their car yet? When it warms up im going to see how well they work....

    they look scratchy. i wouldn't use them on clear coat.

    popular science just tested them and gave them a good review. They held the amount of water they claimed and mopped spills out of carpets but fell short on smooth surfaces like counter tops and tile. They didn't try them on cars.

    Tried them on a car and they leave streaks, no scratches. I think they are best suited for mopping up dog piss.

    i think its the same thing as "the absorber" which you can get a autozone. thats what i use, i really like it.

    The things are not made for cars, i got some for xmas, and i wouldnt even use on my tires.. i use em of my CME, and to wipe my feet.

    The Absorber is great.
    So long as you don't move it on the paint.
    Use it to 'pick up' the water and you are fine. Pull it across the paint and hello swirl marks.

    really? i havent noticed that. my paint, though it has like 10 coats of wax, looks like brand new. what do you recommend to dry instead? i think that the absorber works great, but am def ready to try something new if it works better.

    I use Sonus waffle weave towels on the T/A.
