If you have to use detailer to remove water spots from your clean car than you're not doing it right. Invest in a QUALITY chamois (not an absorber BTW)...

if you have hard water your car will have spots.especially if your car is painted a dark color.

i bought some to dry my car w/ and now they're used to clean up beer that gets spilled at parties, the absorber from walmart is so much better, i just fold mine up into a real tight square and let it dry and it stays like that. if you let it stay wet it will smell like butthole after awhile, they say that mildew doesn't effect performance but i'm not trying to spread uranus on my car

Shamwow is good to wash your car it holds a lot of water but not to use it as a chamois. A chamois is a chamois the absorber well I will probably try it but my chamois works very well. I bought a New one but they seem to work better when they are a bit older.

I use FieldCrest bath towels for drying my car. They have a very deep nap so that if there is any dirt particles that are still on the car (or get deposited on the car by the wind or something) then it doesn't scratch my clearcoat leaving those tiny little spider web looking scratches. The deep nap catches the dirt particles and holds them up and away from my paint. A chamois has no nap so as you rub it across your car, and dirt particles are going to be rubbing against your paint (think sandpaper but with only a few grit particles)
