Sever paint restoration of an Evo

When I was contacted by the owner of this car, I knew it was gonna need some work. However when I saw the state it was in, I realized it was gonna need a lot more. After discussing options for reviving the paint on this Evo, the customer decided to only do the exterior, even though the inside needed attention and you could barely see through the windows... So I got to work...

    Here's what I arrived to...

You can see the clear has completely failed on the rear brakes. I guess there is a recall for this but it hasn't been done yet.

Another factory defect here, the clear was completely shot to oblivion on the carbon fiber spoiler. Spoiler is headed to the paint shop to get redone.

What are you using to keep the oxidization from comming back in a few weeks?

I used Meguiars 205 and then Menzerna FP II. If your buddies integra is single stage paint there is hope. If its base/clear....then he's probably screwed.

It won't be neglected so the oxidation won't be coming back. The sealant on it will protect it for much longer than a few weeks. Its also living in the garage now and I've set up a maintenance plan with the owner for a couple quick visits a year to ensure it stays looking good. The hard work is done, keeping it looking good is easy now.

Great work..... it amazes me how some people treat their vehicles. I could understand if they got health problems etc. but most are just plain lazy IMO.

Looked great in the end but I have to say it's sad to let a car get in that kinda shape to begin with. I have lived in MA,FL and now TX so I have seen cold, snow, salt, heat, and sun and never had a car look anyhting like that. Worst thing on my car is the rusty facotry 10 bolt and it was a dd in MA all season for 8 yrs.
