I saw this video the other day when this guy seafoamed his car. I never saw or heard of this before. Found out it clears CO2 build up in the engine and makes it idle and run smoother. Anyways my question was Is it safe to seafoam your car multiple times within like a month ? im thinkin my car's going to need it since it has over 200,000 miles on it and i dont recall cleaning the inside once

I seafomed a high mileage mustang i had and it started smoking a little afterwards

I seafoamed my car 10k ago. 80k'ish. Grinned like a little kid the whole time as it blotted out the sun when I passed all the carbon out. I don't know if I'd try with that many miles. There are definitly ways to clean without being as harsh as seafoam. Go check Sarge's been testing thread. Seems to be a good buzz there.

HAha cuz it's a Ford..

My old man years ago picked up a 390 for his truck (good running motor). But the rocker racks were covered in sludge. SO we pulled them out cleaned up the valley and so forth. Put it back together, and then it smoked, and the velve train became noisey.. My dad said it prolly would have been better if we'd left the sludge intact..

I have read where people used it and it caused problems-more than once.
Just change oil/filter when it needs it and you are good to go. I wouldn't put that stuff in a 200,000 mile vehicle.

ohh i see. i thought it would help alot cause i saw this video of this kid seafoaming his camaro of over 200,000 miles and you actually saw the sludge flying out of his exhaust. Can you get me link to the Sarge's please lol. very appreciate the input everyone

My truck has almost 200k and I think If I seafoamed it, some of the gunk holding it together may fly out of the exhaust just like you mentioned. I think if it ain't broke, don't fix it.

The new Seafoam seems to out shine any others I've used too. Seafoam Detailing supply's are great....

No smoke on my paint.

Try it on a 37 year old small block some time, my neighbors must have thought it was the end of the world

though when I had the manifold off twice the valves still had a ton of build up

Edit- I wouldn't put that stuff in any vehicle. Just my opinion of course.

That sucks man. I have read some people have had more harm than good. Clean engines are great but........you know what I mean. Change oil/filter on time and you are golden from my exp.

Anyone ever think that they sell that stuff in an effort to get older cars off the road faster? Best way to get deposts and such off/out of engine componets is to slowly break them up over time. Big hard chunks of sludge and carbon flying around in my engine is not something I would even consider. If you have cat, it will either be ruined or its life shortend.. I believe Sarge mention somewhere near a trillion (with a T) times about a product called auto-rx (I think it's called). A much better, less harsh way of removing deposits over time. imho.. Sarge has his Sh7t together when it comes to this kind of stuff.. Also imho...

Running seafoam through the engine is something different that autorx. autorx goes into the oil...
now there is a seafoam application for the oil...but I would NEVER use it for that.
