    Say NO to Turtle Wax!!!

So I purchased a 1999 Hyundai Accent for a daily driver, not a very good expensive car, but it was in good condition. Like I akways do when I purchase a car I detailed it on the first day I owned it. I used Turtle Wax F21 on the dashboard like I have for years. Well within two days the dash is completely cracked and crumbling to pieces. I have heard about people having this happen when an old dash is not used to the heat the chemical adds to it, making the dash crack. I then called Turtle Wax who had me take pictures, get two estimates, have an adjuster come to my house to look at it, and send my product in for analysis. Well after four months of getting the run around, they send me a letter saying that their product is not responsible for the damage. They never even refunded me for the bottle of product they had me send in. So all I ask is next time you are at Wal Mart trying to decide whether to buy Turtle Wax, Meguires, Armor All, or whatever other thing they have recently come out with, go with anything but Turtle Wax. Thanks for reading. Shepp

I avoid most anything I can buy at a local auto parts store.
Turtle Wax is best dumped out.

They make some of the best chrome polish. I have used it for years on my old stuff and love it. Of course there isn't much of any chrome at all on these new cars so most here won't have experience with that.

I recently bought some detailer in a spray bottle from Turtle wax. I have generally used Meguires spray detailer for years but recently bought the turtle wax version for giggles.
I believe the paint shine after an application is much better than Meguires ever gave me. Pretty happy so far.

I've also used turtle wax armor all on vinyl interior products for years without complaints on some of my cars that are close to 40 years old and still sportin' original interiors,,,,no problems at all. Never tried any on leather interiors though, since most of my life I've been without leather. Never heard of turtle wax F21 though,,,sounds like a fighter plane

They have been around for a long long time. Shucks I still have turtle wax products on the shelves in metal cans,,,tells you how long I've used them

Sorry to hear about the mishap though, you can always look on the bright side,,,,,it's just a Hyundai Couldn't resist

I have also used their products for years, but after this poor customer service, I wont be anymore.

Ya turtle wax really does have some damn good chrome polish. Its cleaning ability is also amazing.

I love the F21 tire foam. I don't use the interior spray usually (although I did try it before). I use McGuires wipes inside. I've been using this liquid ice wax stuff - looks pretty darn good, but doesn't last as long as regular wax.

Come on nicer weather..... today was nice mother nature, keep it up!

Well when a car is 9 years old and has not a single crack in the dash, which is one of the reasons why I purchased it, and then whithin two days of applying this product it is completely crumbling. Yes I honestly believe that was the problem.

My dad had a bottle of that wet wax stuff Turtle wax makes laying around a few years ago when we were down there visiting. I washed the car and used it on my wifes car. I was extremely surprised at how easy it was to use and how nice it made the car look.

I always used it on my other cars too, but that thin Hyundai dash just crumbled.
