Removing dealer name plate
Hey there... Looking for some help or ideas on how to remove the dealer name plate from my bumper. It's not a decal but a an actual plate and it's right on my SS's bumper! Can't understand how the previous owners kept it there? I'm sure as hell don't want it it! Thanks

Got any pics? Id imagine it is held on by some double sided tape or even worse, some type of adhesive. If its been on there a while then once you remove it you will still see the difference in paint fade, It will take some time to blend the bumper.
A putty knife and goo be gone may help ya out a bit.

Heat with hair dryer first. If it has been on for several years, the paint might peel. Be VERY careful.

Park it in the sun and try dental floss to cut the tape or adhesive. 3M makes a good adhesive remover, just use it outside.

It should only be held on with double-sided adhesive tape.
Use the heat and floss method for the least possibility of damaging anything. Just don't over heat it.
I would never take anything like a putty knife close to an exterior panel. Imagine slipping and putting a huge gash in your panel.

If you can't get all the adhesive off a single edge razor blade and a very steady hand will remove any residue. This also works on dried tree sap and it won't leave a residue like some of the sap removers on the market.

I've heard the heat gun works the best for this. Let us know how it works out. I'm real curious as I have the same problem. I've wanted mine off since I bought it new, but have been scared it will fuck up the paint!

1 match
15 ft of fuse
15 lbs of C4
Run fuse, light fuse, back up extreme amount of distance....... watch fireworks. Problem solved, no plate, no paint damage (due to no paint left)

Hey you could wrap the dental floss around it and tie the other end to a door knob then slam the door. If that dont get it off, use a stronger door knob and try try again.

If you use 15 pounds of c4 you wont have a car lol, and a regular fuse wont work to blow c4 up you need something that will produce 900 degrees to cause c4 to blow up. Something such as a blasting cap or such, and its also directional to whatever direction you point the blasting cap in the c4 determines which way the explosion will blow towards.
