Racers Glaze vs. Zymol
Hey have any of you guys ever heard of - "Racers Glaze", according to quite a few paint and body shop specialists in my area (Ann Arbor, MI) it supposed to be the best paint product available. I bought some, and I must agree my car looks "NEW". On the other hand I have always used Zymol, which in my opinion is running "neck and neck" with the Racers Glaze. I know Zaino is supposed to be the best. What do you guys think.

I use Zaino on my cars. Then I use Zymol on the Wife's. She has told me that my car looks shinier than hers.

Wow,flashback time.....my body shop used to recommend "Race Glaze" but I could only get it from them! It was an O.K. polish/glaze, but I think the body shop recommended it only because it didn't use silicones which made pre-paint prep a lot simpler for them. You wouldn't get "fish eyes" in the paint, spots where the paint won't stick because of the silicone. If you're comparing it with real Zymol, the one that comes in a clear plastic jar, a blue colored paste wax that smells like coconuts and costs approximately $50 / jar there's no comparison - Zymol kicks "Race Glaze" to the curb big time. There's no abrasives in Zymol - you have to do the paint prep and cleaning first before applying Zymol. You put on a coat of Zymol, polished it off, then either waited a week before putting on a second coat to let the solvents bake out of the wax, or "set" the wax by wiping it down with a wet towel. Once you had 2 coats of Zymol on the finish it was very easy to maintain and the gloss / water beading would last a LOOOOONG time. Never had to apply Zymol more than 3 times a year. (Don't confuse the paste wax Zymol with the cr*p polish that they licensed Turtle Wax to make with the Zymol name). Zymol makes a full line of specialty waxes, all the wax up to $1,000 / jar waxes that are used for concours car judging such as the Newport Beach CA classic car show. I don't use it any more - a lot of the newer protectants such as Mezere', Klasse, and even Zaino look almost as good with less effort and lower cost.
