Pressure wash or drive thru wash really that bad?
I've heard rumors that teh pressure wash hoses are bad for your clear coat and paint, are they really that bad if you're tryin to just knock off the dirt for good detail job..or should u just avoid both altogether.

White / Graphite Leather- 1997 WS-6 6-Spd
I use Alberto VO5 shampoo. Cuts through grime, grease, etc. Have used it on my previous 88 Formula & my current 97 WS6. It's very mild & doesn't leave a film. Car looks like new everytime! Use 1/3 of a bottle at .99 cents. Would use it on an exotic car too, if I had one. Never go through a car wash! Never have, never will. Too much potential damage.

pressure wash is fine, if not on too strong. my pressure is currently really bad, it can barely get off the pollen. im going to try and find a small adjustable electric power washer on craigslist or something. it probably takes the wax off faster, but i wax about once a month since i have been washingat least twice a week. Now those laser car washes that have very hot water and are very powerful, yeah thats probably bad. But they also dont work either.

I have pressure washed and gone through the touchless drive through washes with my WS6 many times with no issues. I need a wax job really bad but thats more from not having the time or place to do it.
Any dish soap will take the wax off the car, dawn I presume is the mildest and won;t damage the clear as well.

imo anything pressure washing doesn't do much better than a hose and actually rubbin with a mit, unless your washing off some nasty oily, greasy stuff. if you don't want to worry about it, just stick to a regular hose, soap, water and bucket or dont pull the trigger at the car wash and bring a mit. also, i agree dawn/dish washing detergent works well.
