    Painting my Hood

So it finally got up to 75 degrees today... I have horrible hood fade because the aftermarket hood was NOT painted correctly..

What all do I need to paint my hood?? Ive painted my WWII jeep but its flat with no clearcoat and its LEAD PAINT(yes they still make it for restos)

Or should I just take it off and get it painted proffessionally.. saving me a lot of time and a lot of hassle..

Its up to you if you've never used clear before there is a learner curve.
assuming that no body work need to be done. you would need to sand your hood down to about a 400 grit finish. use paint prep/cleaner. after that you would need base, reducer, clear, and hardener. 2-3coats of base, 3-4(or as many as you want) coats of clear. you have to spray the clear within 24hrs of applyin the base.
after that 1500-2000 grit sand, buff to desired shine (prob using 2-3 diffenent stages of compounds and pads). thats the basic quick summary of what you need.

its definately a trade off, time/hassle vs money
