By the way- I have clear corners, new headlights, nickle plated slotted/drilled Baer rotors,Hawk pads, 69 Z/28 grill emblem, and a few other goodies that havent been put on yet. I think the clear corners will make it look really nice.

Yeah mine too-thats why I didnt take any close ups. J/K!!!
On a serious note-I seriously doubt if your car looks like my car and yours has swirls-even from a short distance away or not in direct sun. Reason- when a cars clear coat is full of swirls that means that on a microscopic level your clear coat is very uneven with sharp edges-those edges are the visible swirls you see -especially in the suns light. When you polish your cars paint with the proper technique and polish what happens is the sharp edges in the clear coat are smoothed which make the swirls no longer visible-even in direct sunlight. Therefore-there is no way a car that has its clearcoat full of swirls due to sharp edges and uneven surface-like yours-will ever reflect light the way a car that has a clearcoat that is smooth with no sharp edges does.
I will take some close ups in the sun in the next few days-it was getting late by the time these were taken.Last edited by LETHALxLS1; 03-06-2008 at 06:36 PM.

You need to find a polish with NO fillers. Many polishes have fillers that fill in the swirls instead of getting rid of them perminantly and after you wash the car or over time the swirls come back(like you mentioned). 3M makes alot of great polishes without fillers. Menzerna does as well.

Sinister, SixGun- 2001 SS, 2002 L36 M5
you can use an orbital with a very fine compound to cut the swirls out.
something in the 4000rpm range works well. then wax to make sure the surface is glass.
but always make sure that the swirls are gone before waxing, as ^ said, they will come back unless you do something about them.
2001 M6 SS - few mods...
