The good ones I've gotten are from parts stores, ie Autozone. They're never done my car any harm.

I'm guessing the ones with the higher thread count are the more desireable ones.

A good microfiber rag will consist of either %80/20 or %70/30 polyester/polyamide. I don't think the ones in auto part/department stores are.

You always get what you pay for. If you get 24 towels for $9.99, that is saying they aren't very good. Of course if you have a car that doesn't show swirls as easily as black, you might not realize how crappy they really are. Those of us that drive darker cars really have to worry about what touches them.

I use some I get from PepBoys. Can't remember the brand, but I think one costs $9, at least, by itself.

I actually have this set for $99

I actually use the red towels to wipe cars down with prep solvent before I paint, I have the full set. It has nice microfibers and some cheap ones. The red ones are good for polishing chrome though. I have even used them for the interior(leather condition and vinyl dressing) when I would run low on towels.

AG has good micro's, I prefer the Cobra miracles. It depends on what your wanting to do with them. They make different MF's for different uses.Sams micro's aren't terrible they just lint alot. I use them on engine details.

+1 They seem to last forever too. I have around 20 of them but only use 10 of them and have the other 10 put up. I have washed those 10 micros around 45 times and they still look perfect.

This is a good all around package of microfibers(equals out to $5.00 a MF and they are all 16x16)
