I did a lot of work to generally clean up under the hood and remove a lot of distractions such as relocating the TCS/cruise and yanking a lot of EPS junk. I replaced most of the hoses with braided steel lines-that adds a lot of luster under there. One thing to keep in mind is stick with 1 color scheme. Often I have seen multiple colors/finishes under hoods and that drives me nuts. I shot a close up of the intake area so you could see the painted bolt-heads. If you paint them to match the surface they are mating to, they become less obvious and don't stand out as much (the intake/valve covers and fuel rails are powdercoated, the bolt heads, coil packs/racks I just rattle canned). The air lid/deck I had leveled and shot by a pro for a perfect gloss to match the intake. I can't tell you how many people thought I had some monster engine because of all that dress up work-they would get pissed when I told them it was all stock.

Here's a picture of mine. Don't know what to do with the speaker switch on the driver side. Don't wanna do the wire hide for that wire. Suggestions?? Also, deciding on a color scheme when I start doing more. There is red already and my calipers are red. Might stay with that but just can't decide. Almost seems like too much red.

I agree. If you can reroute the amp wire and the hood release cable it would look much better. You can also move the grounds that are on the wheel wells and the ones up top in the front of the engine bay. And maybe the sticker beside the lid :P I think you'd have to do a small hole to get rid of the amp wore and do it much like the passenger side

Love the clear lid! If you ever decide to sell it or trade for my black SLP one let me know

Also from the looks of it you may need to adjust the fitment so that pesky left bracket stays closed. Make sure the lid lip on the inside of the brackets are on the inside of the lip on the radiator support and the outside of the brackets stay on the outside. Hard to explain but once you get it you will see what I mean.

thanks BLK2KSS, there was one for sale on tech pretty reasonable, I figured out how to get the lid adjusted correctly so both brackets stay closed. I've since added a chrome stb, chrome dipstick, and chrome oil filler cap. Car is in the shop being painted, he's going to paint the engine bay while he has it too, so I'll get some new pics when I get it back.

everytime i see these threads...makes me sad.

mine is a DD on a dirt road and 101K miles...
the paint had dulled and chipped and faded in the engine bay.

if i wanted it to look this clean, id defiantly need to pull everything and repaint... :C
