Leather seat tear
I noticed recently on the drivers seat that it's starting to tear or crack. Any suggestions on how to fix this other than replacing the seat completely?

You should be able to find a good upholstery pro to fix that. After that you would need to treat your leather with either Connolly or Leatherique to bring the supple feel of your seats back. They're probably dry and in need of nourishment which is what caused it to crack...

Do you know if having them repaired by an upholstery pro would be expensive? I don't want to spend a fortune but I don't really want it getting worse either.

Pewter metallic- 2000 Camaro SS
A couple of treatements of Zaino #9 and #10 would solve the cracking/dried out problem, after you get it repaired.

I know this might not be the cheapest route - How about pulling a seat from an ol junker? (an abused Camaro that is) They dont make the 4th gens anymore you know...

Yeah I would consider getting one from a wrecked camaro but I don't think it'd be easy to find one....plus that one might be messed up too..lol

I`m having mine repaired in that same spot and also in the upper part of the chair where the back plastic wraps around and meets the leather. It is costing me 300.00 with material to have done. The holes in my leather are quite large though it is a nice tear and a decent one on the lumber and the upper part of the chair.

I know you can get one for less then $300. And no it won't be the actual seat that came in your car, but it is a factory seat out of a car just like yours. But if your looking to keep it all original then I guess this wouldn't be your best bet.

whats the best way to prevent a tear from spreading? its just the usual driver side bolster seem that has about a 1.5" tear. I dont really care about the tear itself i just dont want it to get bigger. has anyone just tried to stitch up the leather or use a repair kit or anything?

Getting a seat from a camaro is the easiest way. But if any you didn't find any camaro better buy a new one than getting it fix on an upholstery shop.

Actually you can go to a dealership depending on were you are at and ask if they have an upholstery guy that does there cars. They get dirt cheap prices and alot of the guys/gals do good work. If they couldn't help you they would definately be able to hook you up with a price at a shop. Depends on were you are at though.
