Question I want to clay bar and wax but...

I want to get rid of the swirl marks too wit a swirl remover. When does the swirl remover go on and what is a good brand of it to look for at my local auto store?

I use the Meguires clay bar and their 3 step system
    step 1 paint cleaner
    step 2 polish
    step 3 NXT Tech wax
On my 115K mile NBM car it works great, Removes all swirls and fine scratches
and gives the paint a deeper darker luster. Lots of work but the results are worth it.

What tools do you have to use with a swirl remover?
If by hand, it may be a tedious and long process, but it's doable

NAPA carries a 3M product known as 3M 30002 that is as good and effective as you can find locally, short of having to order from the internet
There's also another 3M product called 3M IHG (Imperial Hand Glaze) this helps by hand, it works by hand, and has some correction abilities, while it can also helps hide (fill-in) imperfections
As for the order to apply your products, Y2KPewterSS is right on the money in the order he has suggested

    1. Clean car
    2. Clay bar
    3. Work on swirls
    4. Wax/sealant

(my car was jus egged) I washed it with turtle wax ice car wash and now the car doesn't seem as smooth? all that work and some asshole has to come fuck it all up.

If you calybarred the car, and cleaner waxed, at this point you can do whatever you want.
The carwas soap is not strong enough to remove the egg stuff off your car. Try the cleaner wax and see how it goes, then you can apply your favorite wax after that for protection

Zaino, Meguiars, Mothers, they all have a claybar. Any of them are fine.

i want to clay my ss
i went to pep boys and picked up a meguires clay bar kit for $20 which comes with the cleaner wax, a microfiber, and the lube spray which is jus quik detailer. i also picked up some meguires NXT nano wax to coat it. As everyone tells me, make sure you rewax the entire car after claybarrin, since it strips any wax thas on there now.

It took me about 10 hours to do completely. but its worth it, especially on your black SS. it will look damn good.
