SUNSET ORANGE- 2001 PONTIAC TRANS AM WS6
Hot Rims.
About 3 weeks ago i took out the orbital and started to polish up the rims. I been using these 3 polishes. I like the meguiars hot rims the best but all work great. With the hot rims i was able to get done quicker and remove more dirt. I dont have a power ball yet but plan on getting one.
But here is pic after a detail and the shine on the rims from using hot rims. And i did use a orbital buffer terry towel and micro fiber bonnets and some quick detailer sprayed right onto the rim and wipe clean.
WOW i had fun.

is the hot rims ok on clear coat, our wheels are clear coated correct??? I usually just use a cleaner wax and then a finishing wax on my rims to protect the clearcoat. I know that a lot of wheel products arent CC safe soI always steered away from them. I would consider buying a wheel specific product if someone had used a while and had good results,.. also can you see what your products are made of, compared to reg carnuba wax.....I always has such good luck with reg waxes tht I never needed to buy a wheel only product but I am always open for new products...

Id say with the results that i got hot rims is safe for clear coat safe. but reading the brochure for the 2001 firebird it says nothing about being clear coated but highly polished. And i dont see anything on the can saying its not safe for clear coat and i doubt that mother's and meguiars that has been making this type of product for years would make a product that would harm the rim.
When i get time i'll compare the ingredients compared with any cleaner wax and the 3 items i used. But i wouldnt wait around for the break down.
But yes they are smooth as they look.

Red Tint Jewelcoat- 2008 Trailblazer SS
The stock WS.6 wheels are highly polished...then clear coated to make sure they stay polished...even after abuse.
There are write-ups on how to remove the clear coat and then you get a TON of shine because they are just polished aluminum, nothing on top of them. I would have done it if I kept my stockers.

I've been using Hot Rims spray on for a couple years now with no problems. Ya just don't want to leave it on too long.

Avitar is the only one I have as of now....lost all of my high quality pics in my last move. All I have are some in my garage with bad light. When it warms up I will be taking a bunch of high quality pics and hosting them. Car is going to look totally different as I've lowered it and am waiting to put on a set of these...
