well my car finally has all the water spots out and looks perfect again. i ended up bringing it to a detailing company that works hand and hand with a auto paint specialist company. they tried everything form compounds to acid based chemicals, then finally pretty much wet sanded the whole car for me top to bottom. he said he was worried i might need a new paint job because how bad the spots became. they spent 7 hours on my car. good as new!!

That is some seriously hard water you got, we have the same problem with spots if you I don't towel dry after, but they can be removed by washing it again or with some spray detailer.

It was only $175 for them to do the whole car because they gave me a quote before they found out what it really needed. they stuck to there word so they did an excellent job. all that because i used a garden hose to spray my car off from moving 2500 miles fom PA to CA. I didnt hose it off and thats 4 days of the water sitting on the car. He said he has had porches and new vettes need new paint because of house sprinklers spraying the car and it setting on the paint.

That's excellent that they stuck to the quote even after they realized more work was required. Not many people/companies would do that.

We have super hard water too. If I'm going to wash my car, it has to be either early in the morning or late, late afternoon when it's cool out. If the sun dries any water before I can get to it... hard water spots

One of the first things I had to do after we bought this house was to call culligan for soft water tanks. I could barely get a comb through my hair after a shower.

Glad they were able to take care of it for you.

I had to wet sand and buff water spots out of my Trailblazer and 5.0. My TA sits in the garage so it stays in good shape and my water at my body shop has a filter system to keep most of the problems out. I use a Sealant mad by Wizards I got for $10 from the local paint supplies and it has kept my Trailblazers and 5.0's paint in great shape since I buffed it.
