Got oil on my seat
Long story short, got fresh motor oil on/in my passenge seat. I've got a steam cleaner, and tried to shampoo the seat, but there's still lots of oil in there.
I'm afraid I'm going to have to get a new seat. Any bdy got ides how to pull the oil out?

That's a little tough...
Your best bet might be have it professionally cleaned
If I was in a position to do that myself, I would try a dry towel and soak up as much oil as you can so that it will prevent the oil from spreading out. Try some diluted Woolite detergent 4:1 (4 parts water to 1 of Woolite) and work it in with a soft brush and have a dry towel to absorve the suds as you go. You can also try some Oxy Upholstery Cleaner/Shampoo by Scothguard available at parts store

I asked on a diesel forum I'm on and ended up taking one of their suggestions along with partly waht you suggested.
I put a few bricks in a box and lined the seat with paper towles. I changed them out and kept applying pressure as I washed and waxed th car. After about 1/2 a roll of paper towles, I worked some dawn into a lather and soaked that up. After several applications of dawn. I vigorisly (sp) took my steam cleaner to it. I've got to wait untill it dries to see if I got it all.
Lesson learned, check to see if that "new" oil filter was prefilled by some jack hole before you

You will probably get it out of the cover but if any got into the foam it will bleed through after people sit on the seat. If you could pull the cover off and make sure you get it out of the foam too, unless you got it up right away and don't think it went through.

I had about 40 lbs. on the 6 inch square. I *think* I got all up that soaked through. Once it's dry I'll lay some more paper towel down (easy to see if it seeps)and sit on it with some crappy pants.

I'm sure Sarge knows the Viscosity breakdown for oil on the material of a seat.

I was going to suggest Dawn as well since it should do the same as the Woolite, thought the woolite be safer
