First ever wax on new paint
I had my z painted last summer and the body shop guy said wax it in the fall......well I never got around to it and it got cold on me so it still hasn't been waxed......I used that excuse to ride my streetbike to wallyworld last night to pick up some things and I was wondering If I needed anything else and what process should I use. It doesn't have much swirls, but its got some water spots that don't want to come off.
Heres the stuff I got
2 nice new microfiber wash mitts
Turtle car wash liquid soap
Large microfiber drying towl
4 wax applicator pads
Mothers Clay Bar Kit
Meguiar's Gold Class Liquid Wax
Time to show my car some

Looks right to me. If you really want it to shine get some meguiars show car glaze and apply it before the wax.

I am sure Meg's makes a light cut/ fine abrasive polish you can use by hand via foam applicator if you do not own a buffer. This will get the water spots off and revive your cars paint in preparation for wax. If you dont remove the water spots before waxing you will just seal them on to your cars finish. Good luck!

My buddy just got a 6" orbital buffer from advance that I can borrow......I'll get some of that fine abrasive polish to use on any water spots that the clay bar process don't clean up.
The meguiars glaze-Whats the procedure to applying it?
And is it safe to use that orbital buffer (pretty slow one) on the wax after the glaze job or do you have to do the wax by hand after glazing?
I'll try to get some more details on that buffer. I know using the wrong type can mess stuff up.
Hopefully I'll have her done by this weekend
thanks guys

I use my porter cable on low speed to apply glaze. It goes on just like a wax basically but the only difference is that you dont want it to dry, wipe it off as soon as you have finished a section. And yes as soon as your done you can apply wax with an orbital buffer.

If you really want it to shine use Zaino Brothers wax! I used to use Meguires but canned it after I used Zaino! Hands down, the best stuff out there....and since you have a new paint job you'll be surprised at the results....I promise you it'll look like a show car finish once you're done....the stuff is easy on and off.....can even put it on in the sun!! do a google search and check out their site.....
