meguiars makes a 3 step detial set. Paint cleaner, polish, and Wax. Buy all three and devote a couple of hours of your time and do it by hand. The paint cleaner makes it feel like glass and will remove all water marks. Its worth the time trust me.

A claybar works well on water spots.

My car was stained in water spots after a night of getting it from a broken sprinkler. I used Zymol cleaner wax and it got the spots off effortlessly.

I constantly get dust spots (yes dust spots) from the rain hitting my car when its in the school parking lot. I never have enough time to dust my car off in the mornings so when the rain hits the dust it gets pretty friggin dirty. Fortunately it all comes off really well with the Meguiars soap I use. I really need a foam gun like Goose has . My only bitch about colorado water is when my glass gets spots. My glass for some wierd reason is the biggest PIA to keep clean.

I bought one and it worked well for about 3 months-after that it started leaving a residue on my car-I bought a new filter-even bought another bottle of the car wash and it still does it.

I found 3M Rubbing Compound did a fantastic job at removing the water spots (and fine scratches). It was recommended by Goose, and he was dead on, the stuff works.

Mr. Clean Kit will take care of your water spot problem guaranteed. It has a filter to purify the water and the soap nullifies water spots. Good kit for 18$. Just my 2 cents

I think part of the problem that causes water spots is due to hard water and or to much soap. I use a product called Wet Paint to polish the car afterwards. It removes the water spots and helps prevents them.

zymol FTW.........for an even higher gloss/wet look, after u wax with it get a spray bottle with water and lightly spray your paint and buff

I have the same problem here in Vegas. Hot as hell, and the water is hard.

    My technique:

    1. Wash early morning. I've cracked a windshield hitting it with a spray at 1000 AM. Got to do it earlier.
    2. Keep a spray bottle of distilled water handy.
    3. I use a California water blade, followed by large soft white terry towel. In fact, I have two towels handy. That gets the water off quick.
    4. Any place that doesn't get the water off soon enough to get rid of spots gets hit with the distilled water spray, and wiped again with the towel. If the spots haven't set, the distilled H2O is enough.

I've used a chamois for 20 years, but it doesn't work here. All I got were water spots.

To get them off, I alternated with vinegar and distilled water until they were all gone. If you waxed over them, you'll have to strip the wax to get to the spots.

I saw a filter that goes on your hose for hard water(not the mr clean BS) that was told works well.

Thats the only way to do it in the summer her in fl. The water will dry in no time, then if you do wash in the am it will have water spots in pm from the regular afternoon showers then the sun comes out and bakes the water onto the paint.

The only thing I recomend the mr. clean system for is the filter, I will never use the soap ever again. It leaves a dingy dirty look and seems to kill any wax that is on your car.
