Question Detail-heads: How to clean the f-body windsheild inside?

So I already know by reading the countless posts on a few detailing forums about how good Stoners glass cleaner is, that parts easy, and I know that a M/F towel is the second part of that, but my thing is, what tip, or trick, or tool, do you use to get way up front in close where the glass gets close to the dash pad on a f-body, I for sure can not get my hands in there that good and a lot of times if I have any dressing on my dash pad its gets on the glass from the cloth I am trying to clean the glass with...? I would imagine vetts have this issue too...?

i always open my door wide, stand outside and reach inside to get to the bottom part of the windshield - its kind of akward to do it sitting inside *for me anyway.

There's a pretty nifty tool that I've seen in local hardware stores that has a swivel-handle, and it's shaped like a triangle. It has a microfiber bonnet that you can wash, replace, etc...
While I was typing this, I found it. No more explanations

^ I have that but it has a different name and was only 10 bucks. It works awsome though-well worth the money. I bought a microfibre bonnet for it as well.

I've used the same thing for about 5 years now, maybe longer. It's like this thing was invented for the sole purpose of cleaning the F-body windows. I got mine at Wal Mart for like, $5 or $10. I need to pick up another now actually..

As mentioned above, it can be found locally much cheaper. Kmart, or Home Depot may have it...

Yeah you can get it much cheaper -I agree- but autogeek has a pack of 3 bonnets for it which includes a microfiber bonnet similar to the Cobra MF towels. That bonnet works so awsome for finishing up. I could never get the results I wanted with the bonnets it comes with but now that I have the bonnet with the rougher type microfiber I get awsome results! I wish I could buy a pack of just that one type of MF bonnet.

What I'd suggest is to run into the kitchen and steal a spatula. Wrap the mf glass towel around that and have at it Cheap, easy, readily available and works like a charm

We have an aluminum shower cleaning tool with an extension handle on it which is very similar we bought from target and if memory serves it is made by 3m? It currently has a scotch brite type pad on it but a m/f bonnet would be cool, I'm going to look in target next time I go, seems like I saw something like that too........thanks guys-great tips!!!
Keep it coming if you have any more, thanks.............

That film could be caused by residue left from whatever she is using to clean your windows(most detailers try to use cheaper products to save money on a simple wash)- get some stoners invisible glass from Wal*Mart and try it or give it to the woman and let her use it. One other thing that comes to mind is heater core-when they start to go bad they can cause a film on the inside of your windshield.

The film that is found on the interior of your glass is caused by outgassing from the plastic materials of which your dash and interior pieces are made from. Cant stop it ... sorry

It could be whatever you're using on the dashboard too. Some products while drying out, they outgas, and I believe that's the film that finds its way to your windshield...

    Talking

Damn John_Deere_LS1 , your 21 and you get your car detailed...I am over double that, have had maybe 20 cars and never in my life have I paid for a detail, wanted to sometimes but either never had the extra cash, the time, or a combo. So, if you can afford it, you must be doing something right! But I got to tell you, their is no high like that of making your own car look like new...really, its very fulfilling but time consuming.

And back on topic, I was also thinking about trying to get some M/F covers for one of those vendors, hoping those will fit?

A painter's stick wrapped around with a MF towel will work as long as you don't make the tip too bulky...
