cat scratches on my black T/A
What can I do to get scratches off left from cats jumping on and off my car? My car looks great from far away but up close you can see paw prints all over my car even after washing it.

How deep are they? Will your fingernail catch in them?
If theyre not too deep, you can try Meguires ScratchX. That stuff works OK if you only have a few minor scratches.
If theres a lot of scratches and they are all pretty deep, then you might have to move up to bigger stuff like a buffer and different stages of compounds.

Agreed.
Scratch X is 'ok'. It's a fine compound so it takes awhile with pretty noticeable scratches. Not going to help with deep scratches though, exactly as stated.
Use 3M compound, I can't remember what compounds I use but there's three. Start with most course and move to the finest, of course. I use a wool wheel also. The foam ones are much more prone to leaving swirls. But the wool wheel takes longer.
A detail shop will buff it and get it out as much as possible. Usually, if it comes back from the detailer with scratches in it still, then they're too deep and require a re shoot of paint. You have to repaint the whole body panel on black though.
If it's a different color they have to fade it 18-24 inches into your other panels so the paint difference isn't noticeable since paint fades.
More than you asked for. But there ya go.
Good luck!

Step #2. Shoot that fn cat! I hate those damn things. All they do is scratch up nice cars.
