If your in a safe area then i would highly recommend a car cover as far as dust is concerned it does a great job just gotta make sure you keep your car cover clean and its breathable as stateed above.
Man that guy was taking a real chance. Did you have an alarm system?

I keep my car garaged and don't do anything but California Duster once every 3 months or so. I checked into covers and found that only very exspensive covers $200+ don't scratch.

I never cover it in garage till this year I'm sick of car being dusty and dirty and water marks from when garage door is open when snowing or raining. I hope cover don't scratch black paint. I did make sure car was clean and cover also.

mine is covered at the moments in my parents garage, heated and all, keeps the cat and dust off of the paint, and plus it makes people who come to visit wonder whats under the cover....also its just like unwrapping a present every time you take the cover off

Mine is garaged and covered year round - well except for sunny day drives - I wish I could drive it covered to keep road dirt off

I use a $30 car cover fom Wal-Mart, it works great and don't scratch. I use it about 6 months a year. The car stays clean, also I use eagle one spray and wipe cleaner and it does the best.....

you guys should check this out. Its the ultimate protection for your cars! They even have outdoor ones! Its called Car Capsule. Its a little expensive but if you are going to leave it sitting for a while it is the best way to protect your car. Im going to get an outdoor one after i get my car completely repainted.
