Why are you finishing with a cleaner wax? That is a prep tool. None the less, you're fighting a very uphill battle to keep black clean. It just won't happen. Epecially after a week! Ha. Wash with products that don't strip wax. Aviod using a chamois so as not to strip the wax either. Might want to consider something like Optimum No Rinse as a nice between-wash "quick detailer tool" here is a write up I did, it's a great product: Optimum No Rinse; Field Test

    If I were you:
Wash, Clay, wash again, wax with a high end product like Adams or something that doesn't have a negative charge (avoid 'over the counter' products at the local stores). Then keep the car clean on a weekly basis with ONR, do a thorough wash with a hose maybe once a month.

    NEVER USE TURTLE WAX PRODUCTS.
Unless you are trying to polish a shit you took.

But yeah, black can be a pain...

Prima products, RejeX (for the Grand Ma GT and barrels of the wheels), and Victoria's Red Concours Wax (for the 'Bird).

I wouldn't use turtle wax on my undercarriage, hell not even on my 168k mile daily driver I would not use turtle wax.

one of the biggest things to do is to use 2 buckets of water. one for the suds and one of plain water where you clean out your wash mitt after you wipe the car...every single time. suds...apply to car...rinse off in plain water...wring out...suds...apply to car...you get the idea. keeps contaminants from scratching up the finish.

I like the TW ice detailer too. Maybe I'm missing something, but it works fine for me. I don't use any other TW products, tho. And yes, black is hard to keep clean!

wwhats do you guys o to wash your car and i dont mean just wash i mean detail because i have quite a good amount of scratches that have added up
so far all i have is maguires clay bar, some car soap(i dont remember the name but its a cleari blue and i think its ice?)and other than those two are the only things ive been doing to keep my car clean but i did use TURTLE WAX rubbing and polishing compound and then mmaguires cleaner wax for when i tried to remove scratched..and that never goes well

i'm gonna try meguires gold class wash this summer
    mothers clay bar
    meguires tech wax 2.0

i haven't had a need to use any swirl removers...but i wouldn't doubt that meguires would be a good choice...as usual.

I use Meguiars Gold Class Wash with sheepskin mitts for both cars.
When the T/A has the Victoria's Red on it, I use Victoria's SuperWash on it. Same mitts.

    Sonus waffleweaves to dry.

hmm perhaps i should go make a thread on detailing because i meant what products do you use to remove scratches and swirls...because...well i have quite a good amount of those and i reeaally need to break out the touch up paint also my car has it bad from the previous owner.

scratch x is always good, and there are lots of swirl removers out there. I personally use the turtle wax black box set on mine, but I only got it because it was cheap, and black paint specific
