This is a discussion on Barrett & Jackson detail by Goose within the Showcar and Detailing forums, part of the General Help category; Goose, you pimp! Everything looks incredible. I can't imagine those cars arrived in that terrible of condition though...any before shots?...

3 of those cars (Z28, red Corvette, and the Bel-Air) I have already detailed last Summer.
If you do a search, you should be able to find the threads and before pics.
They weren't too bad actually. The red 1967 Stingray had some minor paint work done on the hood to correct a cosmetic flaw. I had to clay bar some overspray, and rebuffed.
The Mustang was ok. Nothing major. I just made it shinier.
The black F100 did have some nasty swirls. As soon as I have time I'll post the pics showing the swirls...

The bulk of my work was focused on little details; engine bay, interior, under carriage and things like that...

I watched Speed Channel this evening and Barret Jackson is on every night 7pm-12 eastern time through Sat. I really enjoy watching these. Maybe I will catch one of these cars-would love to see what they go for $.

I saw a 87 Grand National with 9,600 miles in perfect original condition go for around 21 grand. Seemed like a pretty good deal IMO.

I think that's the going price. Down here, GN's go for $8,500-19,000. Depending on miles and shape... GNX, forget it. I only seen one going down the road, I asked him how much he wanted for it. He just rolled the window up.

No problem. I'm a bit of a detail fanatic myself so I know when I see talent.

    Oh belive you me, man.
This detail was pretty darn close to a concours level.
    3.5 days average per car.
What most people don't understand is that, the cleaner the car is and the nicer it looks, the harder it is to detail. The expectations for "perfection" are higher. Not that you can always deliver perfection, but usually any minor correctable little imperfections are expected to be corrected...

A customer like this one, is very knowledgeable. He knows what to look for and expect out of a detail job.
He has a lot of high-quality MF towels. That should tell you how careful he is with his cars...

I feel very fortunate to have earned his business and trust.
