Armor-all
Sorry if this has been talked about already. I use armor-all original interior. I want to stop because ive heard that if you were to get armor-all original interior on your paint then it can soak into the metal and cause fish eye and other problems when re-painting. Is this true? Also If i were to stop using the armor-all and go with a Meguiars interior cleaner (also has UV protectant) would it cause my interior to crack or turn different colors? any help or proof to these questions would be great. Thanks in advance

Custom Swirly Black- 2001 WS6 M6
I cleaned mine first, when I first got it. Before I put any additional products on. I just used a dampened rag with alittle diluted dishsoap to clean it.
I would always recommend UV protect products, and I use meguiers as well with no issues.

I think most people on here like armor-all about as much as they like SLP...
I would just clean it as suggested first before switching. But certainly, make the switch.

My life is a- Ben Stiller movie.
Look into Adams products. Pick up their Leather Cleaner then top everything with their leather conditioner. Its UV resistant, will not stain your clothes and does not leave a slick finish. The products will give your plastic and leather a rich, semi-gloss finish. If you prefer matte finish, simply buff the surface with a dry MF towel to reduce the sheen.

You will be fine using Armor-all.
All this internet shit ran its coarse on the net 15-20 years ago. Its fine..............
Anything you use to protect "a finish" has the abilty to screw things up when you repaint something.

I remember reading something here once a very long time ago...maybe like a year or longer ago about it. I don't recall the exact details, but it was something to do with the actual chemicals or ingredients in Armor-all that makes it actually damaging to what it is applied to over time.
I've used it on some DD cars over the years and never had an issue with it. I use Zaino on the SS though...just cuz.

In the old days Armor-all used to destroy cluster lenses..
They have since changed formulas..
The main issue with it that can easily be seen by anyone whom uses it, is that it does'nt last for shit..
I have actually used black magic tire wet (that's right I said "tire wet") for more than 20 years on car interiors with good results..
Just don't soak the thing, and spray it on the rag only, not the part..
Down side is it's slippery so if used don't put it on things like the steering wheel..
Plus side is, later, as dust starts to accumulate again, you can simply go back over it with a dry cloth and it will look like you retreated it..
Applied once, you will only likely have to reapply it twice a year, also a plus..
Use what you like, this is what I have used for 20+ years on every car I have ever owned, and will continue to do so..Last edited by Smittro; 10-23-2011 at 04:42 AM.
