Why am i still not getting thump thump??

So the amplifier lives!! I re hooked everything up, am using 14ga wires from the sub to the amp, power wire is good, and even reconnected the ground using a proper ring, but im still not getting anything. The sub will intermediately work, and it'll cut out kind of, as if something wasnt connected right. Could it be the remote wire? This is driving me insane.

Run your RCA's and remote wire on the opposite side of your car that the power wire is running, if you already have it done that way then i dont know

Any place metal is (everywhere). Sand down the are your attaching to and even use some dielectric grease too. Where are your RCA connections coming from? Aftermarket CD player? RCA converter?

This wouldn't cause intemittent problems, only interference. But good to run them that way no matter what.

the rca's are going from the amp to the wires on the back of the head unit. As for grounding, lol its pretty hard to find metal in a vette. I'll check the connections tho. I have the rca's running down the opposite side too. Could my remote wire not being hooked up right cause this? I was told before that if it were the remote wire that my amp wouldnt even turn on

    Yes.

    So is the HU aftermarket?

Your amp should have an indicator light for wether its on or off. If that light is blinking with the consistency with your sub going in and out, you have a bad remote connection.

Check your signal wires (RCA). I had one stop working a few days ago and just went through this. Mine broke at the connector at the headunit and when I bent it around it would cut in and out. you could just hook new ones up and check it ... or if you dont have another cable get a meter and check the old cables. Hope this helps.

Lol, be thankful it was that easy. With used electronics anything can go bad. Congrats on the easy fix though.

lol the c5's just like the f bodies. When things go wrong you hate the car. You wish you could damn it to the most bottom depths of hell...but when everything's working perfectly, it's like driving a masterpiece, and you couldnt ask for anything more
