I have the Rockford Fosgate Power 1000 and love it... plenty of power for all chanels.
    That amp is insane.

And trust me that the actual vs rated power is night and day.

    Ebay

    If Rockford amps my only 2 choices are The Best Multi-Channel amps Rockford ever made. . . . . . . . .

    A real Power 1000 4-Channel.

    Or the Power 650 4-Channel

I don't care for the sound or quality in the new off shore stuff.

My first choice would be a HiFonics Series VIII Aphrodite 6-Channel.
The best 6 channel ever made in my eyes. They were $1300 in 92-93. I have had many and they will run your entire system with .02%thd and not blink.

So I would be purchasing a old school off Ebay.

The Fosgate would blow that thing out the water...

LS2, you don't think the 25 To Lifes are as good as the old stuff? The birth sheets are really impressive...I was thinking of getting a Power1000 25 to Life and a couple Zapco I-force 10Ds.

No it has a complete different sound.

Don't get me wrong it is a great amp for a newer Rockford build.
But the amp is still not as impressive with it's stats to me. If you don't care about cosmetics you can get a used one for $750. I have had one since 93 that hasn't had one issue ever. It has been on 6 different woofer beds and many other cars since. Clean real Power 1000 Terminator will run you $1000-1500.

You probably wouldn't even need all the power of a Power 1000 (Real one that is).
I have ran many complete systems from a Power 650 and it still pounded and had Audiophile mids and clear pronounced voices. The head room if huge in these old monsters.

What would you recommend as far as the subs go? The Zapco 5.25s I have in my truck sound great so I was thinking of trying there subs. I've found the 25 to Life for $500 and might go with that. Haven't decided yet. Cosmetics does play somewhat of a role as well. I'm no audiophile so it doesn't have to be the best of the best.

I'm an Audiophile and have a crazy ConradJohnson system @ home... I wanted something decent in the car, and the Power 1000 offers that w/ the Focal front stage, with 2x P2D48 and 1x T110D4 as sub.
The Power1000 makes enough power that most speakers can blow if you aren't careful when tuning it.
I had JLAudio subs before and the RF are WAY better.
I think even the new 25 to Life are pretty acceptible with a decent HU and good speakers... I wish I had a Clarion 9255... but it's not the case.

I think I made my mind up on the amp, but speakers are up in the air. I do know for know, I'm gonna use 2 Powerbass subs my friend has (getting em for $20 so can't beat it) for now. I'm definitely gonna check out what you said. As far as head units go, I'm gonna have the stock Monsoon until I can get a carputer (won't be all that long). I'm just gonna get a XM adapter, AM/FM adapter, and use a touchscreen with Centrafuse interface.
