what is up with my stock system???
quick question,
i have a 98 Z.
it dont say monsoon anywhere, the back of the radio has the regular GM harness on the back with 4 speaker outputs.
but here is the thing. my door speakers work fine, the speakers bsack in the hatch area are working. but the thing is i also have speakers in the back seat area but they dont work. why would i have all 6 speakers in the car but only 4 work? the radio can only power 4 right? why would they put those extra ones in and not make em work?

The rear seat speakers are (pardon me while I laugh) factory sub-woofers. And they blow all the time because the factory stereo is a poorly designed POS. Do a search for "blown" on this forum and you'll see what I mean. You also have a factory (HAHAHAHA) amplifier (power booster actually) that powers the speakers. Just because your HU doesn't say (POS) Monsoon on the front doesn't necessarily mean that it is not a (POS) Monsoon system. The amp should be located above the rear wheel well on the passenger side of the car forward of the spare tire.
