01' Firebird Pewter- 98' Trans Am Black
What are these speakers?
What are these speakers and what do they do
are they worth anything?
These came with the car i bought from the prev. owner.
the ones with wires have a really sticky black goo-yy tar like substance
this looks like 1 speakers named PowerBass with 1 wire to speaker
from a circle silver thing with looks to be a chip and a battery then having 2 wires leading from it.
I have 2 of these.
the speaker
The Box
Then these are just 2 speakers made by Infinity
it says on the back 6002i
6-1/2" two way
Thanks a lot in advance.

the powerbass is mid range and tweeters basically to play everything a sub woofer does and lets you mount the tweeters in a different place looks like yours are missing the tweeter though the box is a cross over and cuts the bass off at a certain point to protect the speakers
the infinity's are coaxial's and are the same thing basically you just don't have a crossover and you cant put the tweeter someplace else

Don't take it to bestbuy, they do garbage work. Speaker replacment is extremely simple, if they fit, you should be able to manage it yourself. If you run the tweeters your self, remember to avoid running the audio wire next to power wires, they will pick up interferance.

Midrange(6.5", 6x9 etc.) and hirange (tweeters) that are hooked up through a crossover are called component systems. Just as a "FYI." You'll probably have to cut the stock speaker connections off and put new ones on each indiviuald wires. They sell the female connections you need everywhere (walmart/autozone/home depot). I might suggest replacing the old wires (in the component system). The crossover should have a audio in, that's where you hook up the wires from the radio/cd player. If you post better pics, I could point these terminals out.

All of those are in your TA? Probably loud enough you dont hear any rattling. I had 2 ls7 a long time ago and it rattled everything in my little jbody. Same problem like everyone else, fix one rattle, another pops up.
