UN0 Monsoon cd player
i'm still waiting to hear back from my local pontiac garage...buick...whatever.
i know that the late '90s gm starting routing transmissions and engines managements through the stereos (theftlock) and if you pull out the head unit the car won't work.
my question...my '99 Z28 manual trans...does this hold true? if i put in the monsoon cd player from another f-body do i need to get the VIN number from the car or program the new head unit any special way in order to get it to work or is it a direct pull and play swap?

The only thing you need is to unlock it if someone put in a code. Do a search and you can find a generic code and procedure for doing this.

thanks. based upon the other info i got it should be a straight up swap with no issues. if i have any problems coming up with a code i'll give a shout out again. still haven't heard back from the pontiac garage though.
