    temperature gauge fluctuating

im new at this so sorry if im postin this in the wrong place....but i just purchased a 2000 trans am and the temperature is randomly over heating and then returning to normal every once in a while, while i am driving. The car is def not overheating i know its just the gauge. Just wondering if any1 had anything similar to this happen?

do you have any mods installed such as an underdrive pully, are you running the ac? is your air dam damaged? checked coolant? could be a sensor failing if you've checked everything else

I'd take a look at the ECT sensor connector to make sure it's on tight and the pins look good. Doubt it's the gauge inself. SES light isn't on, right?
