    Tail lights out of wack!!

i own a 2000 Pont' Trans am, mostly stock with an entire drivetrain upgrade, (trans through rear end). The problem that i'm having is that every time i run my car at the track and later see the video of the race, my car's tail lights blink when i shift from 2nd to 3rd gear as if i were tapping on the break for a second or so. I don't know why it does that, even before the upgrades, the car would have that problem. I'm not sure if their is some kind of ground that is causing that problem, but it's only when i'm shifting from 2 to 3rd, and only when i'm gunning it. Any suggestions of why it's doing this?

    -Thanks.

Can you tell if it is the brake lights or just the tail lights?

It's actually both. The tail light and the break lights come on at the same time. And it hapens every time i go from 2nd to 3rd going down the race track, it's funny because everyone thinks i let off the gas and still do 13.5 . But in reality i'm going pedal to the floor all the way!

Is your brake pedal a little loose? Could be the jolt from 2nd to 3rd bounces the brake pedal hitting the brake signal switch behind the pedal. Only thing I can think of.

Its probably the normal ls1 flicker. I know camaros have them. If I get down on mine and usually near 3rdish it does it.

Thats interesting,... i know how good the light system is on these LS1's. Well i'll check the break pedal and maybe somewhere behind it by the sensor see if i run into something. I recently upgraded the entire drivetrain system including new hydraulics, and when i installed the master cylinder i didn't see anything loose back their, but yet i wasn't really paying attention.

I've seen a Camaro race video where the same thing happened. Then the chute came out and it was hard to see if the chute was flapping around and in the way or it was the lights.

It happened just before he deployed the chute but, you could tell the lights were flickering.
