Stock trans am stereo

Hey im new here but im lookin into buying a 98-02 trans am and was wondering if all came with the monsoon system? Im a big stereo guy and will most likely be replacing several of these components. I read the stock monsoon system is great. but i would just like a little more imput on it. Will most likely replace the headunit and add a sub but most likely keep stock speakers. Thanks

They do sound pretty good when the speakers arent blown that would be the first thing to replace/upgrade and not all of them have the monsoon but I would say most transams do

Just an FYI, The monsoon system runs 2ohm speakers. In case you didn't know. Something to keep in mind when you start upgrading.

what does that mean? you can only buy 2 ohm speakers or something?

I have not 2 ohm speakers... they sound better than blow stock speakers.. but sound like piss at the same time...

4ohm will work, but 2ohm will sound a lot better. And you will wear down the 4ohm a lot faster.

the ohm is a measure of resistance the 2 ohm will make the amp work harder and push more power you can get a dual voice coil speaker and wire it for several different ohm ratings
imop when the stock stereo starts to go replace it all
