    Stock CD changer

Anyone know if all camaro's firebird had the wiring that goes from the h/u to the back for the changer or if it was only there if you got the cd changer option? My car came with the changer but I know someone that wants to buy mine since I never use it and I don't know if he already has the wiring or not.

    Thanks
    Jon

I know that 2000 up T/As with the Monsoon system have the wiring harness & plug for the 12 CD changer already installed. It's tucked waaay up in the rear driver's side: the plug is wrapped in foam and taped to the stereo wiring harness. You should be able to reach it without removing the left rear hatch area side panel. The CD changer was also intended to be a dealer installable option. Spare 12 CD cartridges are available from Crutchfield; the CD changer is a Pioneer product. It's a simple plug & play - the plug is already plugged into the HU on the other end.

If the changer was an option to begin with the harness will be there. It wouldn't be economical for GM to make separate harnesses just because a car did or didn't have a CD changer.
