I was actually just going to recommend the PAC SWI-X module...you beat me to it! There are other modules out there too that will allow you to still retain the steering wheel controls' functionality, but the PAC SWI-X seems to be the easiest to install and the most universal in terms of working for numerous makes and models...

I'd say get an Alpine deck, get the PAC specifically for the Alpine units, either install yourself (not that hard to do) or take your car to a local car audio shop and buy the deck and PAC units there and have them put it it! That simple! Then your ready to ride off with kick ass blaring tunes!

I have an Alpine deck and got the SWIX unit, but I couldn't get it to work....bad inside wiring is my thought! Even took the damn thing to a local shop...ended up paying $200 for them to do exactally what I did and tell me it doesn't work! Just be careful when it comes to this shit....most places want you to buy the units there...otherwise it is a "liability" for them to install a piece you had brought in to them!

    Sorry for the rant....
