    Stereo Problem

I have a 01 SS with a Monsoon CD system. I just put in new speakers and when the car is not running the system sounds great. However when the car is running and I turn up the volume much the sound cuts out and will not come back on. The head unit is still on but there is no sound. I have to turn the car off and start it again before I get sound again.

    Can someone please help me.

can you give some more specifics. What all you installed/what your system consists of? How you wired everything? etc.

unless you have defective speakers, it is most likely a wiring problem. i say just be safe and rewire as much as you can, including the wires behind the head unit. if its aftermarket, then there should be like 14 pairs of wire splices in the back of the head unit, each of which controls different things (illumination on the screen, each speaker--positive and negative, power from ignition, etc)

if thats the case, maybe the splices are shitty. that would be time consuming considering ud have to figure out which pairs are the problems (check em all), but it would be an easy fix and wouldnt cost u anything.

just my .02 ive done a couple stereos lately. not too big with the speaker wiring, but hookin up the stereo im real knowledgeable of. if you could be more specific or have any other questions, let me know. ill check this thread regularly to help if i can.

Sounds like your amp is cutting out - so knowing what speakers you replaced with what models and how they were wired is crucial.

My first guess is that you used all 4 wires some way in the front doors on a 2 terminal coaxial speaker.
