    steering wheel audio controls

Will the steering wheel audio controls still work when switching out the stereo head unit with an aftermarket head? My Monsoon unit sounds like crap. A previous owner may have messed with it but I can't leave it like it is for long. Gotta have my tunes.

I was told that there are some Head Units that won't work with the steering wheel controls and others that will.

How do you know which is which?

If the h.u comes with a remote control, than you will be able to use the pac-swi. IF the h.u does not come with a control then you wont be able to use the adapter!

If they wouldn't do it, then it is because they are afraid to tackle it. It involves a bit of soldering of resistors and it can be a little tedious. But not hard if you know what you are doing. I know of a few best buy employees who even though best buy is supposed to do it, they tell customers they can't or something else because they are afraid. Sorry mang.

You can use a pac steering wheel adapter. Check there site for more info. I use the pac swi-x.
