    Sail Panel Speaker Question - 01 Trans Am

    I have an 01 Trans Am with the Monsoon sound system. Looking for a stock factory replacememt for one of my sail panel speakers that blew today. Can someone give me the part number so I can make surr I get the right speaker.

    Personally, I would buy aftermarket. It will sound a lot better and will likely be the same price. That is a 4-ohm 6.5" speaker I believe. Someone else can verify.

    It has been a while, but I was able to purchase new in the box replacement speakers from Trans Am Creations.

    HOW DO YOU REMOVE THE SPEAKERS OR THE SPEAKER GRILLE?
    98 Trans am, sail speakers (next to the back seat)

    Yes, I tried the search.

    does the speaker grill just pull out?

    yep....just pry the cover off. Be careful of those speed nuts the screws go into. I can almost promise you that you'll lose at least 1 down into the quarter panel. When you install the new speakers use some masking tape to hold those nuts in place and that'll reduce the chance of you losing one in the quarter panel.

    There's a thread over on ls1tech right now where a guy repaired his subs for $5 and they work flawlessly now. That's an option if you don't wanna spend $100.
