    Retained Accessory Power

I have a problem with the Retained Accessory Power in my 98 Camaro SS and hope someone can give me some leads on things to check.

I bought my car about 3 weeks ago and only drove it once because I was waiting on tags. During that time I replaced factory stereo deck with an aftermarket Alpine unit and replaced the drivers side pw motor/regulator. Since doing all of this when I shut the car down and open my drivers door the power doesn't cut to the radio but it works fine on the passenger side.

Where should I be looking to fix this?

Check the door button, or the dome light switch in the door jam.

Ok I do not see any switch in my door jams - is it integrated into the PDL lock mechanism?

LS1 Tech reports an '02 as being integrated but a 98 t-top having the separate switch. Seeing as I see no signs of switches in either door jam I'll pursue ordering the integrated version.

I will check my 98 tonight. It's in a car trailer now, and I can't open the doors yet...
At least it will time out & should shut off after a few minutes... I thought the button was between the hinges, but not sure now.

You are right, there is no button. It is in the door latch. Using a screw driver, with the door open, as soon as I start pushing the latch in the door, the light goes out.

    Thanks Bill.

I checked it out tonight and the drivers one is inop. Time to hunt down a replacement.
