Remote starter; bypass module yay or nay?

I've been wanting a remote starter/upgraded alarm system for awhile now. (and now that it's getting cold out, I'm really really wanting it) I know which one I want BUT I don't know if I need to get the bypass module as well and I don't feel like calling the seller & asking; their website only says that "most vehicles produced after 2001 will need a bypass module".. so I figured someone on here might know. Of course my car is a 2000.

Yes you need the bypass because of.the chip in the key but the good part is the new bypasses are much more reliable and easier than back in the day.

Remote start alarms have come along way. Their programmable now so no more resistor crap. Pretty easy install if you can solder if not.there is always crimp connections.
