Radio died.
Hi all,
I had the car cleaned last week. When i picked it up the oem radio would not come on. No light in display. A local audio shop said the detailers got armour all inside and shorted it out. They claim head unit needs to be replaced. Can the current unit be fixed? Should I replace with the same or after market. And if after market do they have units that will wire up the steering wheel controls?
Thanks for the help. Rick

They make a converter that will make it work. I think pac makes it. I think you have to have a head unit with a remote. Look at crutchfield.

Thanks for all the help.... Still need a head unit, or a fix it shop. I don't want to stick the shop for a new factory unit. They thought they had a unit, it fell trough. Any thoughts? Rick

I guess it is up to you whether you want a stock or an aftermarket stereo. It seems like they are willing to work with you to resolve the problem. Price out some stock headunits and see what they are willing to give you.
