    power antenna

What is involved in installing a power antenna on an 02, I would just like the fact that it would disappear when not in use. I do use the radio and I am not sure I would get good reception with a shorter style, where with a power antenna it would not jeopardize reception. Is getting power to it a problem?

it should not be hard at all, and i believe you should be pre-wired for it, but you will need to look and make sure, just take out your spare tire and see... there should be i believe 3 wires, a pos a neg and a signal... other than that your actual antenna cord will be a direct swap,

as far as reception goes, i have mine wired on a switch so i can control when it is up, because i dont listen to the radio a whole lot, but my reception with the antenna down is still great, it picks up my XM along with stations even while down, but if things get fuzzy i can flip the swithch and raise the mast and pick up ET phoning home

That's a good idea. We do not have a whole lot of stations and listen to the CD changer most of the time anyway.

Brilliant!, I can't stand my antenna going up every time I listen to the radio.I take it you just tapped into the signal wire?
