guys I am trying to find a head unit that will fit my T/A. I want one that fits the whole space, so there is no plastic gaps between the top and bottom of the head unit. I think what i need is a DIN 1.5. Any ideas?

Also I may change the power cable from the battery to the amps from a 4-gauge to a 2 or even a 0 gauge, apparently the 0 gauge power cable is for car audio systems btwn 800-3000 watts, and including the new PDX-1.1000 amp I'll be running up to 2600 watts rms.
Why are they only stackable if they're parallel to the floor? Mine are stacked and they're set up the same way as yours are. I've been thinking about doing the same thing with the big 3, but unfortunately it's been about 30 degrees here for the past 2 weeks. Where are you getting your amp alternator from?

I just bought the passenger side subthump stealthbox and another type R 10" sub and another PDX 1.1000 amp, gonna stack it over the existing PDX 1.1000, I figure it's gonna beat pretty good.
Where did you find the door tweeter pod? I have been looking all over for it!

Dude I have NO IDEA why Alpine says to do this, maybe it's for cooling purposes/cooling properties, but in the Alpine manual it states specifically that stacking the amps when not parallel to the car floor will void the warranty.

I just got a brand new 220 amp alternator from powerbastardsdotcom, w/one year warranty.

I was also told by sponsor from another site that you can buy a 200 amp alt on ebay, 2 year warranty but they're more expensive than power bastards so I said freaky deaky!!!

Oh well, I probably didnt' have a warranty on it anyway seeing as how I bought it on ebay. What's the difference between the Firebird and Trans Am alternator? That site doesn't seem to have one for the Firebird.

It's got to be the same thing.

    EDIT:

Dude I found it, I clicked Pontiac, then clicked Firebird/TransAm(it has the Camaro SS 35th Anniv pic though ) and there you go.

That's for the 5.7L engine though. I have the 3.8L. Is there a difference between the alternators or are they generally the same?

My god man, do I have to hold your hand???

there is a sponsor @ls1tech.com username is KEE AUDIO

That's the best I could do...

Post a thread in there if KEE AUDIO doesn't work out.

Don't forget now, there are quite a few Camaro threads out there, like z28.com, camaross.com, ls2.com, fbodyaddict.com, lt1tech.com, SOMEONE out there has to know SOMEBODY who has or can make a set for you.

    Good luck!

wow, I didn't want to replace my old stereo because I didn't want a crappy look with just cheap plastic surrounding a new head unit, but those Camaro ones look really nice! I'm tempted. but then again, the steering wheel controls are my favorite part of my stereo. :/

The Alpine HU that I got has an optional accessory that can program the head unit to work with the existing steering wheel controls.

I bought it, haven't the knowledge to make it work thru the steering wheel controls, but a friend of mine has got the madskillz to be able to do it, so he's going to do that for me.
