only problem is obviously the pioneers are more. being i have to buy two at the price, while the kickers come as the pair.

Due to past experience I wouldn't own Pioneer if you gave it to me.
Which sub you choose depends on how you intend to use it. The Pioneer is a sealed box subwoofer. The Kicker is a Free Air subwoofer. Also known as an infinite baffle subwoofer. That means that the sound coming from the front of the woofer needs to be completely sealed off from the sound coming from the back of the subwoofer.

In that case I would go with the free air subwoofer. The B-pillars are closer to being an infinite baffle application than they are a sealed box.

kicker is good, I have it. pioneer sucks, also for head set unit Alpine works nicely for me.

well first you need to find out why the jl's are blown? if you buy new speakes and you ovr or under power them you will be calling what ever you buy a piece of shit then too! personally im running all jl in my t/a stying withing the ohm, amprage, rms range they sound great.if you buy a kraco amp and try running jl's of coarse it will blow or sound less than parr.
hope this helps.

i think the reason it blew is cause it hit the "back" wall. it was on the drivers side, and there's not as much mounting room as on the right side. i just don't want to spend $80 for a new JL. and since the other one is 8ohm, i don't want to have to buy two new ones to get 4ohm.

Kicker...............
I must agree with the response about the Kicker being better for you due to the mounting.I would spend a hour with some spray foam and silicon and at least half ass seal up the pillar behind the trim piece!!! It will make it sound alot better.
ALSO REMEMBER KICKER IS NOTHING LIKE WHAT THEY WERE IN THE 90's!!! IT JAP PRODUCT NOW LIKE MOST OTHER NEW JUNK!!!Don't be afraid of the bottle!!! Be afraid of your tune!!!
